Dekkor Records presents the magical talent of Terri Walker. Yes, she is back again, proving this time she is sure to be around ‘Forever & A Day’…

All the music moguls of the industry were present at Terri’s album showcase to witness this highly underrated star shine. Although Ms. Walker kept us waiting, the wait was well worth it; what was delivered was a powerful and emphatic performance.

Terri took us back to the past with hits from her first album, ‘Untitled’, (which was nominated for four MOBO Awards and short listed for the highly-regarded Mercury Music Prize), the present, with renditions from the chart single ‘L.O.V.E’, and illustrated what will be a promising future from her forthcoming set simply entitled ‘I Am’.

Terri is not new to the music game; her musical history is very impressive.  Having attended boarding school, her vocal training had been focused on classical music. She then attended the Italia Conti theatre school, where her musical training took a different approach. The high degree of vocal discipline has allowed her to work with an array of musical geniuses, such as Mos Def, Brand New Heavies, Raphael Saadiq and Jools Holland.

Terri’s time away from the spotlight has allowed her to acquire a new record deal with London-based independent label, Dekkor Records, (directly after leaving Universal), muster her lyrical skills, which is clearly evident with tracks such as ‘Forever & A Day’ and be experimental with her sound. This new lease of life has given Terri more opportunities to work with incredible talents in the music world such as Gerry ‘The Gov’ Brown in L.A, a renowned mixer, creating an album of sheer brilliance.

Sporting a new, cropped hairstyle, Terri has clearly gone back to her roots and is definitely in her comfort zone, showing she is here to stay. It is finally her time to be recognised. The new album presents a mature, sophisticated and sexy talent with a new wave of dynamic energy. ‘I Am’ is a blend of uninterrupted, live instrumental, heart-piercing soul. Ms Walker’s vocal ability is clearly shown through songs such as ‘Alright With Me’ and ‘I Am’.

If you know about real music and can appreciate the worth of live instruments, clever word play and pure talent, then this album is definitely for you.

I Am’ is released on May 15th, 2006, with the first single, ‘Alright With Me’, released on April 24th on Dekkor Records.
